The Faculty Association began in 1973, when the state community college system was formed.  Since then, the Association has acted as the sole representative and bargaining unit for all Southeast Community College faculty members.  In this role, the Association is responsible for negotiating each collective bargaining agreement, supporting faculty in disciplinary proceedings, and enforcing contract terms through the filing of grievances and complaints through the Commission for Industrial Relations.

A strong Association ensures the terms of the collective bargaining agreement are fair and that compensation and working conditions are comparable to that of other faculty in the Nebraska community college system.  Membership in the Association not only supports these efforts, but provides individual benefits as well.

All SCC faculty members are eligible to join the Faculty Association.  If you are not currently a member and are interested in becoming a member or learning more about the Association, reach out to one of the Association Officers for your campus, or the Association Executive President, Teresa Hruza (This email address is being protected from spambots.
